Deadline Day & Cambridge Discoveries!

Wooo! My assignments are all in and second year is officially complete! Today was deadline day, so I got up early, had my routine last-minute panics, and headed to Cambridge with my boyfriend to hand them in and enjoy a day in one of my favourite places ever. Cambridge was particularly beautiful today.

We decided to go to Bills for a late lunch, which is without a doubt one of my favourite English restuarants I've ever been to. To drink I ordered a peach and mint iced tea, which was so refreshing. My boyfriend ordered a pink soda, but he drank it way too quickly for me to get a photo of it!

For food I opted for something fairly light - the marinated chicken skewers, with minted cous-cous, pitta bread and tzatziki. If I could have this for lunch every day, I probably would. I know my boyfriend's food looks a little ominous, but I can safely say it was incredibly delicious, and something I'd definitely order myself (although it was on the specials menu!) It's chargilled Cumberland sausage with goats cheese mash and gravy.

Next, we went for a walk around the gorgeous streets of Cambridge. If you've ever wondered what it's like, or why I love it so much, just take a look at these last few photos. Visually, it's beautiful, with stunning old architecture and interesting little side-streets. I lived here for two years, and I'm still coming across places I never knew existed. There's always somewhere that I vow I'll go to on my next visit. Imagine Covent Garden  or Chelsea/Kensington, but a lot less hectic.

Sorry if you don't like buildings as much as I do, I just find them so inspiring!

And to save the best photo for last; if you're wondering if your eyes are deceiving you... No, you're right, that really is a man in a bin playing the guitar!

I'd heard about this guy from so many people, but to me he was always like an urban legend; something you'd have to be in the right place at the right time to see. Part of me even thought it was an elaborate wind-up - but no, he exists, and here he is, in all his glory.

P.s: The sign says: If you feel inclined to take a pic, please be kind and leave a tip. Which, of course, I did. Definitely a well-deserved performance.
