What I Wore To Lunch & Plans For August!

This is an outfit I quickly threw together for a lunch date today. Even though it was a last minute decision, I really like the way it looks! It's taken me aaages to get used to wearing midi skirts - I thought I looked ridiculously frumpy before, but I'm kinda used to it now. I've also put together five aims and plans for the month of August towards the end of this post!

Last year I worked full-time from April - September and felt like I missed out massively on all the fun stuff my friends were doing on their summer break from uni. I was earning good money but never had anything fun to spend it on! This year I've sworn to have as much fun as I can, so I've made a few plans that I thought I'd share with you.

1. Explore more of London. I've lived just half an hour from London (on the train) for a long time now and only ever visited for the same sort of things: Oxford Street, mostly. Recently I've been going to different places and simply wandered, without a direct place or purpose. It's so beautiful, and I can't wait to do this more.

2. Go to Brighton. I've seen a hundred photographs, vlogs and blog posts about Brighton and it looks lovely. I've never been and it doesn't take that long to get there, so I'd love to visit.

3. Read more books. I've got an extensive list of books I want to read, and with my kindle it's a lot more possible than before. If you have any recommendations, please let me know!

4. Meet new people. I love catching up with old friends and meeting new people, and I aim to do a lot of that this summer. I didn't get to do this at all last year and it made for a very quiet summer!

5. Be more productive. By this I mean preparing for my dissertation (waaa), exercising a lot more and continuing to blog a often as I have been. I find I'm happier when I have things to do; I really don't like sitting indoors doing nothing all day!

What are your aims and plans for the summer?

  3. Wow I love this outfit, I have been awful at embracing midi skirts if they aren't bodycon but this has genuinely swayed me- I want to buy one now as you look so pretty xx

  4. I really love what you're wearing, the colour of your top is gorgeous. I love your skirt too, midis are a style that have really grown on me of late!
One of my aims (in summer or later- depending on when I have enough money really haha) is to go to London for the first time. Some of my family are only an hour away from there so it seems silly that I've never visited!

  7. This is such a lovely outfit - you do not look frumpy at all. You should definitely reach at least a few of these goals, from what you've said, you should definitely enjoy your summer more! If you're up for a good fictional read that's full of humor, I recommend anything by Sophie Kinsella. Anything from her Shopaholic series or other novels; she'll be cracking you up all day and her writing is so witty and addictive.

Good luck with all these goals! I'm going back to college in September so I'm planning on going for a week or so to the beach to enjoy the last few weeks before it's all fall/winter and heavy college work.
